Grades 1-8

James E. Ransome's paintings are so vivid and colorful they alone could tell the story of Bruh Rabbit and his adventures. When the story and paintings were put together this became a delightful story that comes alive as it is read aloud. Bruh rabbit tries to trick Wolf and eat from Wolf’s garden without doing any of the work. Wolf is tired of rabbit’s tricks so he thinks of his own trick, a tar baby girl. Once Wolf completes his tar baby girl, rabbit will try to free himself with no luck. The story demonstrates how sometimes words will help to solve problems but other times it will take hard work to solve a problem.
