2005 UNLV SPRING FLICKS

The UNLV Short Film Archive is pleased to sponsor the annual 2005 Spring Flicks. Spring Flicks is open to all UNLV students as well as the public. It will be held on Friday, April 29th and Saturday, April 30th . All entry forms, along with fee, are due no later than March 28th by 5pm. All films are due no later than April 15th by 5pm.

DATES: Friday, April 29th and Saturday, April 30th.
TIMES: 4/29 6pm-12am, 4/30 1pm-12am
LOCATION: CBC A-106

PRIZES:
Prizes will be awarded in the following categories:
AUDIENCE AWARD- Best Picture
JURY AWARDS- Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best UNLV Short, and Best Editing.

ENTRY FEE IS $30
Make, check, cashiers check, or money order out to “Board of Regents.” All entry forms with $30 fee are due NO LATER then March 28th. Finished Films are due NO later then April 15th. Contestants can hand in all films and entry forms to Prof. David Schmoeller or to the staff in the Film Department office.

Use of Film and Intellectual Property Rights

Participants are solely responsible for protecting any intellectual property rights the participants may have in their contest entry, and are further solely responsible for obtaining permission, or otherwise complying with intellectual property laws pertaining to the film’s content (such as use of music, literary and other artistic expression of others). Participants, on behalf of themselves and their cast and crew, agree that UNLV is given non-exclusive express permission to make and maintain copies of films and to use the films, along with names of participants and winners, as part of advertising of the competition, and for other instructional, educational and historical purposes without any compensation to Participants or their cast and crew.

Legal Issues

Contest is void where prohibited by law. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. All Participants, including cast and crew, assume liability for all costs, damages and injuries related in any way to participation in this contest, and agree to indemnify the UCCSN Board of Regents and UNLV from any and all such costs, damages and injuries, including any claims of violation of copyright law. UNLV will not be providing insurance for the Participants, or their cast and crew, and Participants are encouraged to obtain insurance on their own behalf. Participants, on behalf of themselves and their cast and crew, release the Board of Regents, UNLV and their respective employees, officers and agents, as well as the judges, from any and all liability from injury, cost and damage resulting from participation in the contest.

Participants agree that they will not use any cast and crew members unless the cast and crew members have reviewed these Contest Rules and agreed to their terms.

*There will be NO time limit on films. All films handed in will be eligible for the all awards.

*The entry form on the following page must be handed into Prof. David Schmoeller or the staff in the Film Department office by March 28th, NO EXCEPTIONS. Films are to be handed in by April 15th , NO EXCEPTIONS. Prizes will be handed out at the Awards Ceremony on April 30th.
