Presidential Student Ambassadors
Emylia Terry is a Las Vegas native whose parents graduated from UNLV, making the university a proud family tradition. As a UNLV undergraduate student, she is a senior in the Honors College and is triple majoring in Psychology, History, and Women’s Studies. Emylia also works on campus for the School of Social Work and is a member of various organizations, including Phi Kappa Phi, Phi Alpha Theta, and the Student Conduct and Hearing Board.
Emylia volunteers for various organizations, including the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN), where she has the opportunity to meet with Nevada’s lawmakers and advocate for cancer research funding. This past summer, Emylia completed an internship with Easter Seals Disability Services in Washington, DC, and the experience allowed her to combine her love for research with her passion for advocacy.
Upon graduation in May 2014, Emylia hopes to attend a joint degree program and earn her JD and PhD in History simultaneously. Eventually, she plans on working as a civil rights attorney and historian. In her spare time, Emylia loves to sing, see movies, and spend time with her family, friends, and loved ones.
