Rachel Smith

As a Las Vegas native, Rachel Smith is proud to call herself a member of the Rebellion and takes great pride in attending UNLV. Currently a junior, Rachel is an undergraduate student with the Lee Business School majoring in Accounting and planning to graduate a semester early in the fall of 2014.

Involvement with the Lee Business School includes serving as an International Student Ambassador as a member of the Nevada Global Business International Summer Study program, through which she studied in London this past summer. The program partners with the University of Nevada, Reno and offers students an opportunity to gain a broader perspective on global culture and business while immersed in an international market.

Rachel currently works as an Accounting Assistant for Enrollment and Student Services. Responsibilities include audit and reconciliation of business activity, calculation and tracking of payroll expenses as well as other analytic and logistical functions for departments including Admissions, Career Services, Enrollment Services, Registrar and Veteran Services. Rachel also works as a Rebel Recruiter and Orientation Leader, welcoming incoming freshman to the Rebel Family at New Student Orientation.

Over the course of the upcoming semester, Rachel plans to join Beta Alpha Psi, an honorary organization for financial information students and professionals. Additionally, she plans to continue to be recognized as a member of the Lee Business School’s Dean’s Honor Roll. Upon graduation, Rachel intends to pursue a Master’s of Science in Accountancy by the fall of 2015 before continuing on to take the CPA exam.
