Presidential Student Ambassadors
Layla Rouas
Layla Rouas is a junior in the Howard R. Hughes College of Engineering. She is majoring in Civil and Environmental Engineering with minors in Solar and Renewable Energy and Mathematical Sciences. Layla stays active in the college of engineering as a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and a Student Ambassador for the College of Engineering. She is the Publicity Coordinator for Engineers Without Borders, an organization that works on the development of Third World countries through Civil Engineering projects.
Layla is a Rebel Recruiter for the UNLV Office of Admissions, a member of the Honors College, and an intern for the Solar and Renewable Energy Programs at UNLV where she focuses on the expansion of the program. Layla is currently working on her internship at the Clark County Water Reclamation District where she applies knowledge from her courses to the real world.
During her free time, Layla enjoys staying active and spending time with friends and family. She has a passion for traveling and exploring new places and spent the past summer backpacking across Europe. After graduation, Layla will pursue a graduate degree in Engineering. Eventually, she hopes to take her knowledge in Civil Engineering and use it to improve the infrastructure of third world countries.
