Presidential Student Ambassadors

Michael Main

Michael Main is in his fourth year attending the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and a recent inductee into the Presdiental Student Ambassador program. As a Las Vegas native, Michael feels at home at UNLV, which he entered in Fall of 2009 to study Biology in the College of Sciences, and has recently expanded into studying biochemistry in pursuit of a dual major. His professional goal is attending medical school through an MD/PhD program and practicing in oncology.

As a member of the Honors College and the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, as well as being involved in scientific research labs, Michael has shown continuing involvement in the academic side of campus life. In addition, he serves the community as a member of the pre-health honor society Alpha Epsilon Delta as well as the members of the organization as a member of the Physician Shadowing committee. Outside of the university, Michael volunteers for the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health and works with Fremont Emergency Services as an emergency room scribe at hospitals across the valley.

Michael hopes that he can demonstrate the values and ideals of the rebels that attend UNLV, and is incredibly grateful for such an opportunity. Michael is also a technology, video game and book nerd and usually spends his free time indulging in such matters.
