Presidential Student Ambassadors
Kylee Klein
Kylee Klein sees UNLV as an opportunity to grow her leadership abilities and push herself academically. As a student in the Lee Business School, she will obtain a Bachelor of Science in Accounting at the conclusion of the spring 2013 semester. Upon graduation, she will continue her education at UNLV as she intends to earn a Master of Science in Accountancy by spring 2014. As her aspirations involve working for a public accounting firm, Kylee plans on acquiring her CPA license after graduation as well.
Kylee currently works as the Account Analyst for the Enrollment and Student Services Complex on campus. This position entails monitoring accounts for Admissions, Enrollment Services, Registrar, Financial Aid and Career Services. Kylee is responsible for analyzing and monitoring spending incurred by each department. Performing monthly bank reconciliations, tracking payroll expense and other payments related to operational function are all in a days work for her.
In her free time, Kylee is involved in several on-campus organizations. As a Presidential Ambassador, she enjoys being able to share her student experiences with donors, faculty, and members of the community. She is also a member of Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity, where she has served on the Executive Counsel since her freshman year. As a founding sister, Kylee has exemplified true leadership for other members and Greek leaders. During spring 2012, she was a member of UNLV’s Dean’s List for students who have reached a 3.5 and above.
Kylee was selected to represent UNLV’s Accounting Department by participating in a FanTAXtic competition. 5 students were selected from UNLV and the team was given a fictional issue-based case to research. A company was making multiple decisions in regards to: research and development, acquisition and mergers, IPO, and non-profit organizations. Kylee and her team then engaged in a simulation exercise, where they presented their findings to a board of directors. This experience is the drive behind Kylee in her goals to work a public accounting firm, specifically within their tax department.
When not on campus, Kylee enjoys running, hiking, cooking and reading. Although she is extremely involved on campus, she strives to balance her responsibilities and still have time to spend with her friends and family.
