Biography

Sheniz Moonie, Ph.D., M.S., is a Professor and Chair of the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics in the School of Public Health. She is the Southern Nevada Director for the CDC funded Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System survey which tracks chronic disease risk factors and rates. Her research focus is pediatric asthma and she has an active research study with the University of Nevada School of Medicine investigating the relationship between asthma and obesity among children. She has acquired both internal and extramural funding and published in numerous peer reviewed journals. She serves on the review board for Journal of School Health, Pediatrics, and Journal of Asthma and Clinical Immunology.
