Biography

Dr. Robbin Hickman was born and raised in Long Beach, California. She practiced clinical physical therapy, primarily serving children and families, in Southern California and in Reno where she lived for more than 20 years. She has served as Senior Projects Coordinator and Training Director at the Nevada Center for Excellence in Disabilities at the University of Nevada, Reno and taught at the University of Kentucky Center for Rural Health’s Physical Therapy Program. An ABPTS Certified Specialist in Pediatrics, Dr. Hickman joined the University of Nevada, Las Vegas Department of Physical Therapy in 2007.

Research Interests

Dr. Hickman’s research agenda focuses on improving the lives of children with developmental delay, disability, or obesity and their families by improving processes and tools that identify those in need of services, exploring effective and efficient intervention strategies, and informing clinical decision-making processes. This line of inquiry includes independent and inter-professional collaborative research and mentorship of DPT student research projects.
