Oak Vichaikul has been an academic advisor at UNLV since 2006. Originally from Chicago, he earned his bachelor's degree in music at Millikin University and a master's degree in music composition at the University of Iowa. He is also the Assistant Prelaw coordinator at UNLV and advises students from all majors who are interested in pursuing a law degree. He is a member of the Western Association of Prelaw Advisors (WAPLA) where he volunteers his time to maintain their website and coordinate law fairs on campus. In addition to advising, Oak actively pursues the use of technology in advising to connect with students.
