Michael Dalbor, Ph.D.
Biography
Michael C. Dalbor, Ph.D. is a professor in the William F. Harrah College of Hotel Administration at UNLV. He received his bachelor’s degree from Penn State in Food Service and Housing Administration. He received an M.B.A. from Loyola University in Maryland and his Ph.D. degree in hospitality finance from Penn State.
His industry experience includes work as a food and beverage manager, purchasing agent, hospitality consultant and commercial real estate appraiser. Before coming to UNLV he taught at the University of Southern Mississippi.
His research interests include agency theory, hospitality capital structure and hotel valuation. He has published more than 40 articles in refereed journals and co-authored the textbook Hospitality Financial Management. He has won the Boyd Award for research (2006), the Boyd Award for teaching (2009) and the Ace Denken Distinguished Research Award (2010).
