Expertise

High-Pressure Physics, Mineral Physics, Crystallography, Experimental Petrology and Geochemistry

Additional Information

My research interests include: (i) Novel material synthesis and property characterization under high pressure and temperature using large-volume multi-anvil apparatus; (ii) In situ high-pressure study using synchrotron radiation of crystal structure, reaction mechanism and kinetics, phase transition, equation of state, rheology, and transport and thermomechanical properties of solids, minerals, glasses, and melts; and (iii) Water in nominally anhydrous minerals at high pressure and its implications to the dynamics, composition, and evolution of the Earth.
