Gary W. Larson

Gary Larson’s experience includes a dozen years in small and medium markets as a broadcast journalist and sometimes morning radio disc jockey and on-air personality. He also started a community access television channel in northern Minnesota. His Ph.D. in rhetoric and media was earned at the University of Minnesota, with an earned M.A. in mass communication from North Dakota State University in Fargo and a B.A. in anthropology from the University of Minnesota. He teaches broadcast production primarily, but he also hosts one of the introductory courses for the major, along with occasional upper-division courses, mostly in media criticism. He has twice been honored by CSUN as an outstanding faculty member and by the college for outstanding service.
