Biography

Ericka Aviles is a dynamic and passionate leader and connector in the Las Vegas community as well as the international travel and tourism industry. Born in El Salvador and immigrating as refugees to Las Vegas with her family at the young age of six, her accomplishments started at a very young age, with learning how to speak English. She went on to be the the first in her family to graduate from high school and college and now is seen by many as a role model in the community. Ericka has distinguished herself by her wide array of experience in sales, marketing and communications as well as her tremendous work ethic, ability to foster relationships and develop partnerships. Some of her many recognitions include being awarded with the Rising Star Award by the Las Vegas Hospitality Association (LVHA) in 2014, along with a 2015 nomination by the Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), as a Women of Distinction in the tourism industry. She was also recognized by El Tiempo Newspaper as a Hispano Destacado (Distinguished Hispanic) in the Las Vegas community.

Ericka’s ongoing curiosity and zest to learn, grow and support her community both personally and professionally, recently led her to form her own company Ericka Aviles Consulting LLC. Her company’s main focus is connecting and engaging local business and government organizations with the Hispanic and Latin American community/markets at both a local and international level. Via sales, marketing, public relations and public outreach initiatives, Ericka works one on one with her clients on developing strategic plans, supporting and expanding current initiatives and offering a fresh set of eyes and new ideas.

Prior to starting her own business, Ericka has held high profile positions within the travel and tourism industry. Most recently, she was the Director of Sales & Strategic Partnerships for Bonotel Exclusive Travel, a leading wholesale distributor of both branded and boutique luxury properties from United States, Caribbean and Mexico.

In addition, she spent seven years at the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) where on the international and convention sales teams, she helped develop, promote and grow the Las Vegas brand and drive visitation, by establishing Las Vegas as the ideal place for both leisure and business travelers. She also had the opportunity to work in Public Affairs where alongside Former Mayor Oscar B. Goodman and several executive industry and community leaders, they helped form and establish the Las Vegas Host Committee, the only permanent Host Committee in the nation. Via this initiative, Ericka worked closely with resort stakeholders, local businesses as well as community organizations, to grow awareness of the importance of tourism. In addition she spearheaded campaigns and other initiatives to help roll out the red carpet and welcome over 41 million visitors to Las Vegas each year.

Ericka began her career with MGM Resorts International, where she was accepted into the prestigious Management Associate Program (MAP). Following her completion of the program she worked as Business Development Manager at The Mirage Hotel and Casino, Hotel Sales Manager at Treasure Island Hotel and Casino and as Assistant Director of Sales and Vdara Hotel & Spa.

Ericka is a graduate of the UNLV William F. Harrah College and Valley High School Academy of Hospitality and Tourism magnet program, both programs which she credits for her passion of the hospitality and travel industries. She is also recent graduate of the Las Vegas Metro Chamber’s Leadership Las Vegas Class of 2015 program and currently serves on the boards for UNLV Hotel College Alumni Chapter and Shriner’s Hospitals for Children Open Women’s Day Committee. In her free time Ericka enjoys spending time with her friends, cooking, practicing yoga, and traveling the world with her husband. She is grateful for the opportunity to be living the American Dream.
