Emily S. Mann came to UNLV in 2013 after completing a postdoctoral fellowship at the Health Equity Institute at San Francisco State University. Her research and scholarship focuses on gender, sexuality, reproduction, and youth, with an emphasis on discourses and practices of social regulation in the U.S. context. She is currently working on a number of projects, including a study of Latina/o youth’s sexual and reproductive health and rights and a study of abortion regulations introduced through the Affordable Care Act of 2010. Prior to her postdoctoral fellowship, she was a lecturer at the University of Maryland, College Park, where she taught courses for the Department of Sociology, LGBT Studies, and the School of Public Health.
