Expertise

Computational and Theoretical Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics, Atomic Processes in Astrophysical and Fusion Plasmas, Quantum Information, Computing

Additional Information

My research interests include computational and theoretical atomic, molecular and optical (AMO) physics and its applications. Specific topics of interest include cold and ultra-cold atoms and their application to quantum information and computing, spin, fine-structure and hyperfine structure changing collisions, charge transfer processes, collisional and radiative recombination, geometric phases and forces in atomic processes, matter-antimatter collisions, QED effects in high-Z atoms, and applications of AMO science to astrophysics. I received my Ph.D. degree in physics from the City University of New York and served a postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard University. I was a visiting scientist at the Institute for Theoretical Physics (ITP) in Santa Barbara, the Smithsonian Institution, and the MIT-Harvard Center for Ultra-Cold Atoms (CUA).
