All first-year fall semester students required to attend the New Student Orientation. New Student Orientation has been carefully planned with your transition to college life at UNLV in mind and is designed to set you up for a successful first semester.
It is necessary that new students arrive on time and remain for the entire full-day orientation session. Please keep this in mind when making any travel arrangements. Please also do not plan to leave New Student Orientation early for work commitments or schedule any appointments that conflict with your Orientation reservation.
Students depart from the Student Union to multiple advising locations across campus. Arriving on time ensures students will not miss these group assignments. Colleges and majors vary in length of time and we are unable to ensure completion of the program prior to 4:30 p.m.
Incoming first-year fall semester students will receive academic advising and their class schedule. If you do not attend New Student Orientation, you will still receive advisement and get registered for fall courses, but only after our staff has concluded serving the students who participated in New Student Orientation.
If extenuating circumstances prevent you from attending New Student Orientation, please notify us as soon as possible at 702-774-UNLV (8658) or [email protected].
