UNLV North Campus Task Force

The UNLV North Campus Task Force was organized and convened by UNLV and the City of North Las Vegas after the selection of the proposed campus site in 2003. The Task Force’s initial goals were to obtain campus site approvals by the Board of Regents of the Nevada System of Higher Education and City Council of North Las Vegas. Once those goals were accomplished in March 2004 the Task Force provided the nucleus for the planning group that participated in the Preliminary Master Plan studies by JJR from Ann Arbor, MI, one of the leading campus master planning consultants in the U.S. The Task Force then proceeded to work with the Nevada Congressional delegation to obtain Congressional approval for the conveyance of approximately 2,009 acres to the Nevada System of Higher Education for UNLV. That approval is anticipated to be completed in the summer of 2010.

The Task Force membership includes economic development, real estate, planning, public works and academic programmers from the City, Nellis AFB, and UNLV.
