The fourth president oversaw the construction of several major buildings, established the UNLV Foundation, and championed the installation of the Flashlight.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m., Sept. 28, in the Student Union Ballroom for the longtime sociology professor and vice president for research. He passed away June 23.
