Unit Transition: Online Education

Posted: July 9, 2013

The Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost is pleased to announce that Online Education (formerly Distance Education) will move from the Division of Educational Outreach to the Office of the Vice Provost for Academic Affairs.  This move is consistent with the expanded role of online education in the development of new opportunities for our students and the importance of integrating online educational activities with Academic Affairs to assure consistency and high quality course delivery.  The move is effective July 1, 2013 but the transition will take a number of months to implement.

Dr. Mark Fink, Associate Vice Provost for Online Education, will continue to lead Online Education.  His top priorities will be to work with the campus to integrate our online educational offerings into our formal academic structure, improve the quality of course offerings and expand faculty engagement in online technologies.  Mark will work closely with the colleges and departments to identify areas in need of improvement and to continue UNLVs statewide leadership in the area of online education.
