Posted: February 27, 2014
Associate Professor Ralf Sudowe participated in a story about a Voice of America reporter’s boots. The reporter, Steve Herman, had worn his boots for nearly 25 years as he covered stories around the globe. After a trip to Fukushima, Japan he decided to have them reconditioned. He asked Sudowe to check the radiation levels in his boots to determine if they were safe for handling. The boots were safe, and Herman aired his story on February 17.
