How to Locate Grant Funding Opportunities Workshop Oct. 22 & 23

The Office of Sponsored Programs, in collaboration with the University Libraries, is pleased to offer a workshop to assist faculty in identifying funding opportunities that match their research ideas and expertise. The workshop will be held on two consecutive days Tuesday, October 22, 10-11 a.m. and Wednesday, October 23, 1:30-2:30 p.m. Both are to be held in BEH 102, and the same material will be presented on both days.

Come to this informative, hands-on workshop and learn how to utilize existing resources and search for current funding opportunities that match your expertise and research areas.

Topics will include:

Demonstration of searchable databases available to UNLV faculty, such as:

  • Grants Resource Center (GRC)
  • Foundation Directory
  • Grants.gov

Determining how to receive direct notification of relevant funding opportunities through:

  • GRC Faculty Alerts
  • RSS feeds

Learning more about the solicitation or program announcement, such as:

  • Due dates
  • Formats
  • Proposal components

Understanding aspects of eligibility, including:

  • Institution type
  • Individual awards
