Construction Impact on Parking and Traffic Expected to Start on Monday, July 14, 2014
Posted: July 10, 2014
Construction to complete the wash cover project, south and east of the Stan Fulton Building (SFB), is expected to begin on Monday, July 14, 2014. The new area will have approximately 125 new parking spaces added as a result of the construction. The entire lot south of SFB and a portion of the lot north of soccer will be closed to thru traffic during construction. Access will not be available between the Soccer Building and the Flamingo access road leading to Flamingo Avenue or the Boys and Girls Club. Anyone traveling to the areas east of the project should enter the campus from Flamingo. Access to the soccer fields and the north side of the Lied Athletic Complex will still be available, however, parking in these areas is extremely limited. Staff going to SFB are being advised to park in the staff parking on the north side of the building. Pedestrians access from the Soccer Building parking lot will be provided via a pathway along Swenson (see the provided link with the project location and pedestrian access route at http://www.unlv.edu/sites/default/files/page_files/27/pkg1403.pdf ). Event attendees will be directed to Lot R north of the Boys and Girls Club and transportation to the building should be arranged. The new parking lot is anticipated to be open and in use by August 25, 2014. Any adjustments to the schedule will be announced.
Any questions in respect to parking should be directed to Parking and Transportation Services at 895-1300. Questions regarding the project or building access should be directed to Jennifer Johnson or Tim Lockett in Planning and Construction at 895-2500.
