With more than 27,000 students and more than 700 instructional faculty, UNLV is a vital community resource to local nonprofits and public agencies. However, providing easy community access to the service, research, and training resources of the University is a challenge.
In response to this challenge, the School of Environmental and Public Affairs and the Greenspun College of Urban Affairs created the UNLV Nonprofit, Community, and Leadership Initiative (NCLI).
The mission of the UNLV Nonprofit, Community, and Leadership Initiative (NCLI) is to build capacity, develop leadership, and foster community in the public and nonprofit sectors.
Collaborations and Partnerships
The NCLI has been designed as a headquarters of interagency collaboration and trust. As part of this effort, the NCLI has forged strategic partnerships with the Chamber of Commerce, the United Way, the Southern Nevada Young Nonprofit Professionals Network, Credit One Bank, UNLV’s Office of Economic Development, and UNLV’s Office of Civic Engagement and Diversity.
The highly integrated and collaborative nature of the NCLI allows it to present the combined resources of multiple agencies and University departments to the nonprofit organizations and public agencies it serves.
Location & Contact
The NCLI is headquartered at the Historic 5th Street School in the heart of downtown Las Vegas. The 5th Street School also houses the Downtown Design Center for the School of Architecture; the Nevada School of the Arts, the American Institute of Architects; and the city of Las Vegas Cultural Affairs Division.
