Message from José A. Elique, Chief of Police and Director of Public Safety
Dear Campus Colleague:
An effective university public safety program depends in part on a quick and efficient method for communicating with members of the campus community, including faculty, staff, students, and parents. For the past few months, UNLV has been working on the implementation of an Emergency Notification System (ENS) that would provide timely information to the campus community in the event of an imminent or ongoing threat to personal safety. Our newly acquired system has the capability of disseminating this information almost immediately via phone, text, and/or e-mail to all who subscribe.
I encourage you to register your contact information at your earliest convenience. The registration process, which is free, is user-friendly and takes only a few minutes to complete. It is very important to register so that you will be notified expeditiously and be able to make informed decisions relating to your personal safety should an ongoing dangerous or emergency situation arise on campus.
Thank you,
José A. Elique
Chief of Police/Director of Police Services
