NEAT LAB WILL HOST 2010 Imperative: Global Emergency Teach-In AT UNLV

The UNLV School of Architecture is proud to have “kick-started” the 2010 Imperative with Architect Edward Mazria as a result of the Fall 2006 Klai Juba Lecture Series. Now, the university is in the process of advancing the ideas. Moreover, UNLV has registered to participate in The 2010 Imperative: Global Emergency Teach-In, an interactive web-cast broadcast live from New York that will reach over 500,000 students, faculty, deans and practicing professionals in the architecture, planning and design communities in both North and South America on Tuesday, February 20, 2007 from 9:00am to 12:30pm Pacific Standard Time (PST). This teach-in will address the impending need to consider and respond to energy and environmental design issues as we expand and renovate our built environment.

Four prominent speakers, Dr. James Hansen (Head of NASA Goddard Institute), Architect Edward Mazria (Founder- Architecture 2030), Architect Chris Luebkeman (Director-Arup’s Foresight and Innovation Initiative), and Ms. Susan Szenasy (Editor-in-chief of Metropolis magazine), will answer questions addressed via email with the help of session conductors. The teach-in is free and open to the public.
