What is the difference between a quiz and survey?

  • The most significant difference is that a survey does not display the student's name next to his/her submissions. The set up procedure is the same.

Note: It is recommended that questions be added to the database before adding a quiz/survey.

Adding Questions to A Quiz/Survey

Option Function
Add Questions Selecting this option will allow you to add questions and arrange them in sequential order.

Add question set

Using these selections will enable WebCT to RANDOMIZE the delivery of the questions to students.

You can add several question sets to a quiz.

Tip: By adding a question set containing more questions than is delivered, there is a possibility that some questions may be given to some students, but not others. (e.g. If adding a question set of 20, you can set it so that WebCT will randomly pull 10 out of the 20 questions per student.)

Add question alternates Use this option to add questions to an existing question set.

Directions For Adding Questions or Question Set

  1. Click on the Add question or Add question set button
  • This will take you into your Question Database.

To Select Questions from Database:

  1. Check the boxes next to the questions you'd like to add. (Checking the box next to the folder will select all questions within that folder)

Add question alternates

  1. Check the box next to the question set.
  2. Click on Add question alternates button.
