Importing Content
(Content Module or Quizzes)

In order to import a content module into WebCT, you will need to have access to an exported content module from another course. For instructions on how to export a content module and save it to your computer, click here. For instructions on how to export your quizzes, surveys, and question database and save it to your computer, click here.

To import a content module into a different course

You must first upload the .zip file into your My Files area. For instructions on how to upload a file into WebCT, please click here.

Once it is upload, continue with the following steps:

1. Click on Control Panel.
2. Under Manage Course, click on Import Content.
   
   
3. Select Import a Content Package.
   
   
4. (#1) Enter a title in the text box provided. This may be the same title that appeared in your original course.
5. (#2) Click on the Browse...button to locate the.zip file into your My Files area.
6. Choose the exported content module file. Click Add selected button.
   
   
   
7. (#3) Select the package time as WebCT.
8. (#4) Choose where on your course to add a link to the new content module.
9. Click Import.
10. A success message with import confirmed will appear notifying you of the location and appearance of the link. Click Done or Import more content.
11. Check your content module or quizzes to ensure that items were imported successfully.

WARNING: Do not import the same content module or quizzes more than once. This will duplicate files stored in your My Files and Quiz areas.
