Who Should Join?

CSSA is dedicated to serve all the UNLV students and scholars with Chinese heritage and those who are interested in Chinese culture. Our mission includes, but is not limited to, providing assistance for our members in adapting to local life, promoting Chinese culture on and off campus, raising university awareness, and educating on issues related to China and Chinese students.

CSSA welcomes all students as members. If you are interested in Chinese culture or are a Chinese student who wants help or advise other members, you should join us as a family. It is always free to join CSSA; you can choose to be a General Member or Management Team Member at the time you join us. General Members will get all the event information from CSSA first; Management Team Members will participate in the event planning process or other management related task such as Human Resources, Finance, and Marketing.

Events

The biggest event that CSSA holds every year is the UNLV Chinese New Year Gala. It attracted almost 500 students and faculty members in 2012. In addition, we also hold smaller events such as ice-skating, bowling and a prom.

We will also have hotel professionals as guest speakers and spread volunteer or job opportunities through our email and social networking websites.
