Speakers in this session will identify some of the acts of preparation for mitigating personal injury, damage to plant and property, and fiscal strain.

Late Morning Session (10:30 a.m.-12 p.m.)
Crisis communications plans can mean the difference between guest and employee safety and disaster. Attendees will learn how to communicate with the major stakeholders – guests, guests' friends and family members, employees, and the media – before, during, and after a crisis.

Lunch/Keynote Speaker

(12:15 p.m.-1:45 p.m.)
Dr. Peter E. Tarlow is a world-renowned speaker and expert specializing in the impact of crime and terrorism on the tourism industry, event and tourism risk management, and economic development. Since 1990, Tarlow has been teaching courses on tourism, crime & terrorism to police forces and security and tourism professionals throughout the world.

Simulated Emergency Exercise

Afternoon Session (2 p.m.-5:30 p.m.)
This session will be led by emergency preparedness personnel and first responders, from around the state of Nevada. Attendees will participate in and help direct the “outcome” of a real-time crisis simulation with current data and information. Attendees are encouraged to work through the free FEMA online course, Introduction to Incident Command System, prior to the summit.
