Our signature events include the Rebel Variety Show, Annual Alumni Awards, Rebel Homecoming Festival, and Parade, and of course a full day of cheering the Rebels to victory during the tailgates, football game, and the Rebel Homecoming Royalty crowning. Ways to Participate
Office Decorating Contest
Let us transform the campus with Rebel Homecoming Pride by participating in the annual Homecoming Office Decorating Competition. Decorate your office to showcase UNLV school spirit and Rebel Pride so all students, faculty, staff, and guests to UNLV know that is Rebel Homecoming Week! We encourage you to decorate your main office lobby/area for a chance to win a UNLV Prize pack for your office!
Rebel Homecoming Team Competitions
Throughout Homecoming Week, student teams participate and compete in a wide variety of activities. Teams must have up to four organizations to participate. The winner of the Student Team Competitions will be announced at the Halftime of the Rebel Homecoming Football Game on Saturday!
Most Spirited Rebel (MSR)
The Most Spirited Rebel Competition is a Homecoming Tradition that allows students to show off their UNLV Pride. The MSR Competition includes a variety of events throughout Homecoming Week and is open to any undergraduate, regardless of if they are on a homecoming team or not. The winner of the Most Spirited Rebel Competition will receive points for their team (if they are on one) along with a $500 scholarship.
Rebel Royalty
Each year the Rebel Royalty is selected from UNLV students involved in various student organizations. Ten candidates make up the homecoming court, and two students who receive the highest amount of votes throughout the competition, regardless of gender, will be considered UNLV Rebel Royalty. There are various aspects to the competition including an online vote, interview process, and activities in which the candidates will participate for points.
Homecoming Kickoff: Pep Rally
Come celebrate together with this campus-wide tradition - on the Academic Mall for the entire UNLV community. Come together to kick off Homecoming week, and celebrate tradition and Rebel Spirit!
Homecoming Window Painting
Kickstart Homecoming week with the Rebel Events Board’s Window Painting competition and celebration at the Student Union Courtyard and Pida Plaza.
Rebel Variety Show
The Rebel Variety Show is one of the longest-standing Homecoming traditions. It provides teams and individual students with the opportunity to put together a performance that incorporates acting, dancing, props, and more.
Rebel Homecoming Festival
This signature homecoming event, Rebel Homecoming Festival, combines two classic events hosted by the UNLV Alumni Association and the Rebel Events Board. A night of first-class entertainment complete with a college dean meet & greet, carnival rides and games, food, and a beer garden create the perfect atmosphere to connect and reconnect alumni, students, faculty, staff, and the community in the name of building the tradition.
Scarlet & Gray Homecoming Parade
Alumni, students, faculty, staff, and friends of all ages are invited to line the academic mall to enjoy the spectacle of sights and sounds as our Scarlet and Gray Homecoming Light Parade makes its way through campus.
Annual Alumni Awards
For more than 42 years, the UNLV Alumni Association has recognized exceptional individuals who represent the ideals of higher learning and Rebel pride. Through the awards program, the association recognizes alumni, faculty, students, and community leaders for their outstanding achievements and leadership at the university and our community. These recipients truly serve as inspiration for the generations of students who will follow.
UNLV Family Weekend Tailgate
Families of UNLV students are encouraged to celebrate Rebel Homecoming and spend time with your students by bringing your Rebel Spirit by joining us for UNLV Family Weekend! The Family Weekend Tailgate will take place prior to the Homecoming Football Game. Come cheer on the Rebels with us!
Alumni Tailgate at The Rebel Village
Join the UNLV Alumni Association as we celebrate Rebel Homecoming in the ultimate football tailgate. Supporting the Rebels is not just about the game, it is about the experience.
Football Tailgate - Rebel Student Tailgate
CSUN Student Government, Rebel Events Board, UNLV Athletics, and Registered Student Organizations are teaming up to host the Rebel Student Tailgate. This is a great way to gear up to cheer on the Rebels in the big game! Come out for free food, music, and giveaways!
