About

The Graduate and Professional Student Association serves all currently enrolled University of Nevada, Las Vegas graduate and professional students. Membership in the GPSA is automatic. All graduate and professional students are encouraged to utilize the GPSA as a resource. The Graduate and Professional Student Association is comprised of the elected Executive BoardCouncil, standing committees, and the GPSA Manager and Advisor.

Mission Statement

The Graduate & Professional Student Association (GPSA) of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, shall promote and represent the interests of graduate and professional students at UNLV. The Association shall assist graduate and professional students with support for their academic endeavors. Providing an environment conducive to student scholarship and research is the primary goal of the GPSA. In addition, the GPSA strives to engender a sense of community among the graduate and professional students by furnishing financial support and fellowship. The Graduate & Professional Student Association serves all currently enrolled University of Nevada, Las Vegas graduate and professional students.

Origins

The Graduate Student Association (GSA) was founded on November 6, 1980 for the purpose of furthering and enhancing the academic goals of the graduate students at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). On January 30, 2003, the name was officially changed to the Graduate & Professional Student Association (GPSA) to reflect the inclusion of the association’s constituents enrolled in professional schools.
