UNLV ArtsBridge is an outreach program of the UNLV College of Fine Arts which partners UNLV students majoring in art, architecture, dance, film, music and theatre with local at-risk elementary school classrooms to teach biology, math, and a variety of other topics using the arts.
These UNLV ArtsBridge scholars collaborate with Clark County School District classroom teachers to design a semester-long project which bridges the arts with classroom curriculum.
It's a win-win-win program!
Being a UNLV ArtsBridge Scholar is a great way for Fine Arts' majors to share their passion and skills with children in the community, gain teaching experience, and earn extra income. Host teachers and schools benefit from the resource of our university students' talents while helping to address the scarcity of the arts in our local schools. Host classroom students benefit from a new approach to learning classrooms material, exposure to the arts, and seeing a role model of a UNLV college student.
