Festival of Communities

History

UNLV’s Festival of Communities began in the spring of 2007. The event was created to celebrate and demonstrate the rich cultural diversity of UNLV and the Las Vegas valley. The program has grown from a few dozen booths and 1000 participants to a celebration that now features more than 180 booths and attracts more than 8,000 to the UNLV campus each spring.

In 2013, GreenFEST joined the Festival of Communities. These two festivals, with the combined mission to celebrate the rich cultural diversity of UNLV and the Las Vegas Valley and honor National Earth Day, invite community partners, non-profits, organizations, schools, students and families to explore and be inspired. Festivities include green vendors, live entertainment, performances, activities, food and drink from around the world, recycling and conservation exhibits, campus tours, fashion shows, art, mascots, a beer garden and more!
