Project Estimates
Project estimates describe all the activities which define the scope and budget for minor and major renovation projects. Minor renovation projects cost less than $10,000, and major renovation projects cost $10,000 - $500,000. Requests for major renovations are reviewed with the Provosts Office before any commitment for work is made to ensure the evaluation is conducted with respect to the strategic plan for academic programs and research operations, and through the appropriate vice president for service and support units.
Project estimates will be conducted under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Design or the Assistant
Director of Construction. To initiate a request for a project estimate, please forward a Facilities Management work request
or interdepartmental request describing the scope of the work. The request should include an account number. This request
should go directly to the Planning and Construction Department. All project requests assigned to Planning and Construction
are reviewed and assigned every Monday. A preliminary assessment of the scope will be made at the Monday review to determine
if the project must be reviewed and signed by the Provost or the appropriate vice president before a work assignment
for the estimate is made. Our goal is to complete all estimate for minor projects within three weeks.
