Pitfalls, Perseverance, and Serendipity: What I Learned by Writing a Biography a talk by Darlene Unrue, professor, Department of English, UNLV.
Professor Unrue began her research and writing of a biography of the American author Katherine Anne Porter with specific assumptions about the challenges that lay ahead. However, by the time she finished the biography, all of her early assumptions had been abandoned. What she learned during what she called “a great adventure” she could never have imagined.
This event is free and open to the public.
