UNLV Wind Orchestra Concert I: On the Air

The Department of Music presents the Wind Orchestra with a guest performance by Las Vegas Academy's wind ensemble conducted by Brian Downey and Logan Biles.

Conducted by Thomas G. Leslie, this joint concert with the Las Vegas Wind Symphony, conducted by Brian Downey, featuring guest conductors Dr. Zane Douglass, UNLV, and Dr. David R. Waybright, director of bands, University of Florida.  

Featured works to be performed are "One the Air" composed by Michael Daugherty, "Second Prelude" composed by George Gershwin, "Scenes from the Louvre," composed by Norman Dello Joio and "The Red Pony, The Film Suite" by Aaron Copland from the award winning film of the same name.

The UNLV Wind Orchestra is composed of music majors, non-majors, and select graduate students, has received international acclaim for its fresh and creative approach to music making.

Admission Information: 

General seating tickets for this event are priced at $10.00 and $8.00, with discounts available for seniors, military, and UNLV faculty and staff. All students will receive 1 free ticket per valid student I.D.
