University Forum: Why Everyone (Else) is a Hypocrite
When: Mar. 14, 2013, 7:30pm - 8:30pmCampus Location: Marjorie Barrick Museum / Harry Reid Center
Office/Remote Location: Auditorium
Join the College of Liberal Arts in the University Forum Lecture, "Why Everyone (Else) is a Hypocrite" a talk by Robert Kurzban, associate professor, Department of Psychology, University of Pennsylvania.
Do you wonder why people are so inconsistent? Why people often seem to contradict themselves? Why they say “don’t do X” and then do that very thing themselves? In this talk, Professor Kurzban explains why. The reason is that the mind is, like a smart phone, made up of a large number of parts, and these parts conflict with one another. These conflicting parts make everyone (else) inconsistent and hypocritical.
This event is free and open to the public.
