Please join the College of Liberal Arts for the University Forum Lecture "Cosmic Dawn: The Search for the First Stars and Galaxies," a talk by George Rhee, professor of physics and astronomy, UNLV.

Astronomers want to understand how galaxies and stars came into existence. Four hundred years after Galileo used his telescope to discover the moons of Jupiter we are using new telescopes and instruments to search for the first galaxies to form after the Big Bang. The aim of this talk is to introduce the audience to the current frontier of this subject and lay out the exciting developments we can expect in years to come.
