Join the College of Liberal Arts in the University Forum Lecture "The B.P. Gulf Oil Spill: What Happened?" a talk by Michael Pravica, professor, Department of Physics, UNLV
The 2010 Gulf Spill was the worst marine oil spill in history with incalculable environmental fouling and deaths. In the “cheap” energy era, this crisis demonstrated the clash between corporate mismanagement and science. The oil spill’s causes as well as the dangers of deep-well drilling will be discussed from a physicist’s perspective.
