Rebel Reading Challenge

When: Nov. 20, 2013, 10:45am - 11:45am
Campus Location: Thomas & Mack Center

SuperPawn and UNLV Athletics are teaming up with the Clark County School District (CCSD) to bring 6,500 fourth- and fifth-grade students from 32 schools to the Thomas & Mack Center for the 2013 “Rebel Reading Challenge” Kickoff Celebration.

The third annual kickoff celebration delivers the message about the importance of reading as a fundamental life skill throughout an hour of entertainment, learning and fun. The event launches the “Rebel Reading Challenge,” a 30-day competition designed to motivate students to read. Last year, “Rebel Reading” students read 2,393,660 pages during the course of the program. Winning classrooms receive free tickets and transportation to a UNLV men’s basketball game and a classroom pizza party.
