The Institute for Latin American Studies cordially invites you to attend a lecture by Professor Peter Smith entitled "Global Regimes and U.S.-Latin American Relations: Rethinking the Contemporary Era."
Peter H. Smith is Distinguished Professor of Political Science and the Simon Bolivar Professor of Latin American Studies at the University of California, San Diego. He previously held faculty positions at Dartmouth College, the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His most recent publications include Modern Latin America 7th ed. (2010, coauthored), Democracy in Latin America: Political Change in Comparative Perspective, 2nd ed. (2012), and Talons of the Eagle: Latin America, the United States, and the World, 4th ed. (2013).
