Las Vegas Habitat for Humanity Build
When: Mar. 1, 2013, 7:30am - 2pmOffice/Remote Location: Location TBD
Join the Office of Civic Engagement and Diversity and help build a home for a Las Vegas family in need. Come put your construction skills to the test and meet other handy UNLVolunteers in the process. Habitat for Humanity is founded on the conviction that "every man, woman and child should have a decent, safe and affordable place to live. We build with people in need regardless of race or religion." Habitat for Humanity Las Vegas has built 78 homes from 1991 to present and housed 261 people of which 170 were children under the age of 18. Depending on how far along the house is by our volunteer date we could be doing anything from framing the house, insulating, installing dry wall, or painting.
More details will come as we get closer to the project, but anyone can help. No experience necessary. Just the desire to give back and learn something new.
This event is free and open to all students, faculty, and staff.
