Join expedition leaders, Dr. Margaret N. (Peg) Rees and Sharon K. Schafer for an entertaining and educational multimedia presentation to learn more about Explore the Galapagos - A UNLV Natural History and Photographic Adventure.
Spend two days exploring the history, art & architecture of Old Town Quito, plus 11 days on a privately-chartered catamaran cruising the Galapagos Islands. The Galapagos Islands are a small, rocky archipelago 500 miles off the coast of Ecuador. Isolated from the mainland for millions of years, the islands are home to an abundance of unique wildlife. Cruise to pristine islands and walk among colonies of animals and birds unfazed by your presence. Observe magnificent Galapagos marine iguana, experience up-close encounters with nesting flightless cormorants, watch the magnificent frigate bird, and blue footed boobies in their courtship display, and snorkel amid tropical fish, sea turtles, sea lions, and penguins.
This presentation is free and open to the public.
