UNLV Campus Recreational Services' Fitness Instructor Training (F.I.T.) courses combines lecture & practical application to cover the basics of personal fitness training. It's an excellent way to review for the national certification exams and it's a great way for individuals interested in the fitness industry.
The topics covered include:
- Basic anatomy & physiology
- Program design
- Exercise prescription
- Conducting a fitness assessment
- Proper exercise technique & form
- Injury prevention
- Interacting with clients
Previous experience in the subject matter is recommended, but not required.
Participants must attend all of the weekend workshop & practical application days.
- Fri., Sept. 6, 3-9 p.m.
- Sat., Sept. 7, 9 a.m.–5 p.m.
- Sun., Sept. 8, 9 a.m.–5 p.m.
Practical Application Days:
- Tue., Sept. 10, 6-9 p.m.
- Tue., Sept. 17, 6-9 p.m.
- Tue., Sept. 24, 6-9 p.m.
Additionally, you will be assigned a test client to complete five personal training sessions.
Registration Fee; including a manual
- Students - $50
- Faculty/Staff & Community = $150
