Crowdfunding your piece of the American Dream

Crowdfunding expert Ruth Hedges will be speaking on "Crowdfunding your piece of the American Dream" and the exciting opportunities this new industry offers entrepreneurs for accessing capital. She will explain the different types of crowdfunding options including donation, reward, and equity, and she’ll outline how to launch a successful crowdfunding campaign using various social media platforms, such as Kickstarter.

Ruth Hedges, a Las Vegas resident and the creator of Crowdfundingroadmap, has been an active pioneer in the Crowdfunding industry. From early 2010 she helped move the startup exemption of the JOBS Act passage through Congress, which was signed into law by President Obama on April 5, 2012 and supported by overwhelming bipartisan support. She has since been building awareness of the Crowdfunding movement through The Global Crowdfunding Convention and Bootcamp held in Las Vegas and development of best practices, compliant technology and educational material.

Ms. Hedges is also a founding board member of the Governance committee for the Crowdfunding Professional Association Organization (CFPA) and also a founding board member of CrowdFund Intermediary Regulatory Advocates (CFIRA). Ms. Hedges is a council member of the Crowdfunding Accreditation for Platform Standards (CAPS) program which is an initiative by to promote the adoption of best practices for the operation of crowdfunding platforms globally.
