The William S. Boyd School of Law invite you to attend CLE: The Law and Literature Parts I and II
This program is approved for 6 CLE credits.
David Cross, Esq. has been a criminal trial attorney in Philadelphia for more than 20 years. He teaches courses on Trial Practice, Literature and the Law, and Shakespeare and the Law. He is also a freelance writer who has written for a variety of periodicals on a variety of subjects. He is currently working on a book about a cross-country driving trip he made visiting each of the Presidential Libraries, entitled, “Chasing History: Following the Presidents From Squedunk to Podunk.”
In part 1, Cross will give an introduction to law and literature then go on to discuss Aeschylus' "The Oresteia", "Anatomy of a Murder", Hawthorne and "The Scarlet Letter", and Camus and "The Stranger".
In part 2, he will continue with "To Kill a Mockingbird", "Anatomy of a Rape Trial", some Shakespeare, "Atonement", "Orley Farm" and "Rumpole of the Bailey".
