The Brazilian Oil Outlook: Challenges and Opportunities

The Center for Business and Economic Research (CBER), Brookings Mountain West at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and UNLV will jointly sponsor a public lecture titled "The Brazilian Oil Outlook: Challenges and Opportunities" by Professor Adilson de Oliveira, a chemical engineer with a PhD in development economics, from Grenoble University, Grenoble, France, and a specialization degree in energy economics from the Institut Economique et Juridique de l’Energie, Grenoble, France.

Currently professor of industrial and energy economics at the Institute of Economics, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, he has several papers published both in Brazilian and international journals. He is a member of the editorial team of the International Journal of Energy Sector Management.

He has acted as consultant to several international organizations, including the World Bank and the European Union, and to several Brazilian energy companies, the energy regulators and the Ministries of Energy and Industry.  

In the last years, he has been advising the Brazilian government on the local content policy for the oil industry.
