BMI: Emerging Writers Series with Derek Henderson

When: Nov. 19, 2013, 7pm - 8pm
Campus Location: Greenspun Hall
Office/Remote Location: Auditorium

Derek Henderson earned his Ph.D. in English and Creative Writing from the University of Utah and is a founder of the publishing house Blue Night Press. His first book, "Inconsequentia," is a dual sequence of poems written in collaboration with Black Mountain Institute Ph.D. Fellow Derek Pollard. In 2011, he published "Thus &," an erasure of Ted Berrigan’s experimental 1964 collection, "The Sonnets."

The Emerging Writers Series brings young poets and writers with at least one critically acclaimed book to the campuses of UNLV and UNR to work with creative writing students and give a public reading of their work. The series is made possible by a grant from Nevada Humanities.

The Emerging Writers Series (EWS) brings early career poets and fiction writers each year to the campuses of UNLV and UNR to present public readings and student-centered craft talks.

The reading will be followed by a Q&A with the audience and a book signing.
