Barrick Lecture Series: Dr. Eric Topol

The Barrick Lecture Series presents a talk by Dr. Eric Topol, named the #1 most influential physician executive in the United States for 2012 in a national poll conducted by Modern Healthcare. A practicing cardiologist at the Scripps Institute, Dr. Topol has done much to increase the understanding of how genetics can determine a person's health risks, particularly their risk for heart attack. Dr. Topol is a believer that each patient is unique and therefore requires a specific care plan tailored to their indivdual needs. Some areas of special interest to Dr. Topol are genomics, wireless sensors, and preventative medicine. Dr. Topol is also the author of over 1,100 peer reviewed articles, 30 medical textbooks, and his book The Creative Destruction of Medicine: How the Digital Revolution Will Create Better Health Care. Dr. Topol was selected as one of GQ magazine's "12 Rock Stars of Science."

Admission Information: 

Admission to the Barrick Lecture Series are free, but tickets are required. Tickets are limited to two per person.

General seating tickets will be distributed to UNLV Faculty, staff and students on Wed., March 20 beginning at 10 a.m. at UNLV's Performing Arts Center Box Office. 

General seating tickets for all others will be distributed starting on Sat., March 23 beginning at 10 a.m.
